Isaiah 40 comforts God’s people with his forgiving & strengthening grace, and confronts them with his incomparable glory.
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31
Only those who recognize their own weakness will look to God for his strength, and he freely gives it. And whether in our walk we feel like we are soaring or just taking that next small step, we only do it in total dependence upon God’s renewing and empowering strength.
