Various Proverbs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>6:16-19<br>16\u00a0There are six things the\u00a0Lord\u00a0hates,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0seven that are detestable to him:<br>17         haughty eyes&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11:2\u00a0When pride comes, then comes disgrace,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but with humility comes wisdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>16:18\u00a0Pride goes before destruction,\u00a0<br>a haughty spirit before a fall.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>18:12\u00a0Before a downfall the heart is haughty,\u00a0<br>but humility comes before honor.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>29:23\u00a0Pride brings a person low,\u00a0<br>but the lowly in spirit gain honor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15:33 Wisdom\u2019s instruction is to fear the Lord,\u00a0<br>and humility comes before honor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>25:6-7<br>6\u00a0Do not exalt yourself in the king\u2019s presence,\u00a0<br>and do not claim a place among his great men;\u00a0<br>7\u00a0it is better for him to say to you, \u201cCome up here,\u201d\u00a0<br>than for him to humiliate you before his nobles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1:7 \u201cThe fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>22:4\u00a0Humility is the fear of the Lord;\u00a0<br>its wages are riches and honor and life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3:5-8<br>5\u00a0Trust in the\u00a0Lord\u00a0with all your heart<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and lean not on your own understanding;<br>6\u00a0in all your ways submit to him,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and he will make your paths straight.<br>7\u00a0Do not be wise in your own eyes;<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0fear the\u00a0Lord\u00a0and shun evil.<br>8\u00a0This will bring health to your body<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and nourishment to your bones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>30:1-4<br>1 The sayings of Agur son of Jakeh\u2014an inspired utterance.\u00a0<br>This man\u2019s utterance to Ithiel:\u00a0<br>\u201cI am weary, God,\u00a0<br>but I can prevail.\u00a0<br>2\u00a0Surely I am only a brute, not a man;\u00a0<br>I do not have human understanding.\u00a0<br>3\u00a0I have not learned wisdom,\u00a0<br>nor have I attained to the knowledge of the Holy One.\u00a0<br>4\u00a0Who has gone up to heaven and come down?\u00a0<br>Whose hands have gathered up the wind?\u00a0<br>Who has wrapped up the waters in a cloak?\u00a0<br>Who has established all the ends of the earth?\u00a0<br>What is his name, and what is the name of his son?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1:5 The wise listen and add to their learning<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1:7 fools despise wisdom and instruction.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>26:12\u00a0Do you see a person wise in their own eyes?\u00a0<br>There is more hope for a fool than for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9:7-10<br>7\u00a0Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults;<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse.<br>8\u00a0Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you;<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0rebuke the wise and they will love you.<br>9\u00a0Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still;<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.<br>10\u00a0The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,\u00a0<br>and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12:1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,\u00a0<br>but whoever hates correction is stupid.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12:15\u00a0The way of fools seems right to them,\u00a0<br>but the wise listen to advice.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13:1 A wise son heeds his father\u2019s instruction,\u00a0<br>but a mocker does not respond to rebukes.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13:10\u00a0Where there is strife, there is pride,\u00a0<br>but wisdom is found in those who take advice.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13:13\u00a0Whoever scorns instruction will pay for it,\u00a0<br>but whoever respects a command is rewarded.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13:14\u00a0The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life,\u00a0<br>turning a person from the snares of death.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13:18\u00a0Whoever disregards discipline comes to poverty and shame,\u00a0<br>but whoever heeds correction is honored.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14:12 &amp; 16:25 There is a way that appears to be right,<br> but in the end it leads to death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15:5\u00a0A fool spurns a parent\u2019s discipline,\u00a0<br>but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15:10\u00a0Stern discipline awaits anyone who leaves the path;\u00a0<br>the one who hates correction will die.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15:12\u00a0Mockers resent correction,\u00a0<br>so they avoid the wise.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15:31\u00a0Whoever heeds life-giving correction\u00a0<br>will be at home among the wise.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15:32\u00a0Those who disregard discipline despise themselves,\u00a0<br>but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>17:10\u00a0A rebuke impresses a discerning person\u00a0<br>more than a hundred lashes a fool.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>18:2\u00a0Fools find no pleasure in understanding\u00a0<br>but delight in airing their own opinions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>18:15\u00a0The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge,\u00a0<br>for the ears of the wise seek it out.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>19:25\u00a0Flog a mocker, and the simple will learn prudence;\u00a0<br>rebuke the discerning, and they will gain knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>19:27\u00a0Stop listening to instruction, my son,\u00a0<br>and you will stray from the words of knowledge.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>21:11\u00a0When a mocker is punished, the simple gain wisdom;\u00a0<br>by paying attention to the wise they get knowledge.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>23:9\u00a0Do not speak to fools,\u00a0<br>for they will scorn your prudent words.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>25:12\u00a0Like an earring of gold or an ornament of fine gold\u00a0<br>is the rebuke of a wise judge to a listening ear.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>27:22\u00a0Though you grind a fool in a mortar,\u00a0<br>grinding them like grain with a pestle,\u00a0<br>you will not remove their folly from them.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>29:1 Whoever remains stiff-necked after many rebukes\u00a0<br>will suddenly be destroyed\u2014without remedy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>26:11\u00a0As a dog returns to its vomit,\u00a0<br>so fools repeat their folly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>30:12-13\u00a0<br>12 \u201cthere are those who are pure in their own eyes and yet are not cleansed of their filth;\u00a0<br>13 those whose eyes are ever so haughty, whose glances are so disdainful.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>6:16-1916\u00a0There are six things the\u00a0Lord\u00a0hates,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0seven that are detestable to him:17 haughty eyes&#8230;
