Various Proverbs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Proverbs referenced in this sermon: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proverbs 27:23-27<br>23&nbsp;Be sure you know the condition of your flocks,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;give careful attention to your herds;<br>24&nbsp;for riches do not endure forever,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and a crown is not secure for all generations.<br>25&nbsp;When the hay is removed and new growth appears<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and the grass from the hills is gathered in,<br>26&nbsp;the lambs will provide you with clothing,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and the goats with the price of a field.<br>27&nbsp;You will have plenty of goats\u2019 milk to feed your family<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and to nourish your female servants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proverbs 6:1-5<br>1My son, if you have put up security for your neighbor,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;if you have shaken hands in pledge for a stranger,<br>2&nbsp;you have been trapped by what you said,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;ensnared by the words of your mouth.<br>3&nbsp;So do this, my son, to free yourself,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;since you have fallen into your neighbor\u2019s hands:<br>Go\u2014to the point of exhaustion\u2014<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and give your neighbor no rest!<br>4&nbsp;Allow no sleep to your eyes,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;no slumber to your eyelids.<br>5&nbsp;Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;like a bird from the snare of the fowler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>21:17&nbsp;Whoever loves pleasure will become poor;<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;whoever loves wine and olive oil will never be rich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>21:20 The wise store up choice food and olive oil,<br>    but fools gulp theirs down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12:9&nbsp;Better to be a nobody and yet have a servant<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;than pretend to be somebody and have no food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13:7&nbsp;One person pretends to be rich, yet has nothing;<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>22:7&nbsp;The rich rule over the poor,<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and the borrower is slave to the lender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13:11 Dishonest money dwindles away,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>21:6 A fortune made by a lying tongue<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; is a fleeting vapor and a deadly snare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>28:20 A faithful person will be richly blessed,&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13:11 Dishonest money dwindles away,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15:27&nbsp;The greedy bring ruin to their households,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;but the one who hates bribes will live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>28:22&nbsp;The stingy are eager to get rich<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and are unaware that poverty awaits them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>28:25&nbsp;The greedy stir up conflict,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;but those who trust in the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;will prosper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11:24&nbsp;One person gives freely, yet gains even more;<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11:25&nbsp;A generous person will prosper;<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14:21&nbsp;It is a sin to despise one\u2019s neighbor,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;but blessed is the one who is kind to the needy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14:31&nbsp;Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>17:5&nbsp;Whoever mocks the poor shows contempt for their Maker;<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>18:23&nbsp;The poor plead for mercy,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;but the rich answer harshly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>19:17&nbsp;Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the&nbsp;Lord,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and he will reward them for what they have done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>21:13&nbsp;Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;will also cry out and not be answered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>22:9&nbsp;The generous will themselves be blessed,<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;for they share their food with the poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>28:27&nbsp;Those who give to the poor will lack nothing,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>29:7&nbsp;The righteous care about justice for the poor,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;but the wicked have no such concern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Proverbs referenced in this sermon: Proverbs 27:23-2723&nbsp;Be sure you know the condition of your flocks,&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;give careful attention to your herds;24&nbsp;for riches do not endure forever,&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and a crown is not secure for all generations.25&nbsp;When the hay is removed and new growth appears&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and the grass from the hills is gathered in,26&nbsp;the lambs will provide you with clothing,&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and the goats with the price of a field.27&nbsp;You will have plenty of goats\u2019 milk to feed your family&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and to nourish your female servants.
