Proverbs 30:7-9"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Proverbs 30:7-9:<br>7\u00a0\u201cTwo things I ask of you,\u00a0Lord;<br>    do not refuse me before I die:<br>8\u00a0Keep falsehood and lies far from me;<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0give me neither poverty nor riches,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but give me only my daily bread.<br>9\u00a0Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and say, \u2018Who is the\u00a0Lord?\u2019<br>Or I may become poor and steal,<br>    and so dishonor the name of my God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>22:2\u00a0Rich and poor have this in common:<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The\u00a0Lord\u00a0is the Maker of them all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>29:13\u00a0The poor and the oppressor have this in common:<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The\u00a0Lord\u00a0gives sight to the eyes of both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3:9\u00a0Honor the\u00a0Lord\u00a0with your wealth,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0with the firstfruits of all your crops;<br>10\u00a0then your barns will be filled to overflowing,<br> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and your vats will brim over with new wine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10:22\u00a0The blessing of the\u00a0Lord\u00a0brings wealth,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0without painful toil for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10:15\u00a0The wealth of the rich is their fortified city,<br> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but poverty is the ruin of the poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13:23\u00a0An unplowed field produces food for the poor,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but injustice sweeps it away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>20:17\u00a0Food gained by fraud tastes sweet,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but one ends up with a mouth full of gravel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>21:6\u00a0A fortune made by a lying tongue<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0is a fleeting vapor and a deadly snare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14:31\u00a0Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker,<br> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>22:16\u00a0One who oppresses the poor to increase his wealth<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and one who gives gifts to the rich\u2014both come to poverty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>22:22\u00a0Do not exploit the poor because they are poor<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and do not crush the needy in court,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>23\u00a0for the\u00a0Lord\u00a0will take up their case<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and will exact life for life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>28:3\u00a0A ruler\u00a0who oppresses the poor<br> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0is like a driving rain that leaves no crops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>28:8\u00a0Whoever increases wealth by taking interest or profit from the poor<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0amasses it for another, who will be kind to the poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>18:11\u00a0The wealth of the rich is their fortified city;<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0they imagine it a wall too high to scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>23:4\u00a0Do not wear yourself out to get rich;<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0do not trust your own cleverness.<br>5\u00a0Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0for they will surely sprout wings<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and fly off to the sky like an eagle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10:2\u00a0Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but righteousness delivers from death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11:4\u00a0Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath,<br>    but righteousness delivers from death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11:7\u00a0Hopes placed in mortals die with them;<br>  \u00a0all the promise of\u00a0their power comes to nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11:28\u00a0Those who trust in their riches will fall,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15:16\u00a0Better a little with the fear of the\u00a0Lord<br> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0than great wealth with turmoil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>16:19\u00a0Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0than to share plunder with the proud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>28:11\u00a0The rich are wise in their own eyes;<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0one who is poor and discerning sees how deluded they are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>16:8\u00a0Better a little with righteousness<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0than much gain with injustice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>19:22\u00a0What a person desires is unfailing love;<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0better to be poor than a liar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>28:6\u00a0Better the poor whose walk is blameless<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0than the rich whose ways are perverse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15:17&nbsp;Better a small serving of vegetables with love<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;than a fattened calf with hatred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>17:1Better a dry crust with peace and quiet<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0than a house full of feasting, with strife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10:16\u00a0The wages of the righteous is life,<br> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but the earnings of the wicked are sin and death.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Proverbs 30:7-9:7\u00a0\u201cTwo things I ask of you,\u00a0Lord;
