{"id":6949,"date":"2019-11-17T10:00:04","date_gmt":"2019-11-17T15:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/redeemerchurchpca.com\/NewTheme\/?post_type=ctc_sermon&#038;p=6949"},"modified":"2019-11-20T09:14:39","modified_gmt":"2019-11-20T14:14:39","slug":"gods-wisdom-for-our-work-proverbs-66-11-2430-34","status":"publish","type":"ctc_sermon","link":"https:\/\/redeemerchurchpca.com\/NewTheme\/sermons\/gods-wisdom-for-our-work-proverbs-66-11-2430-34\/","title":{"rendered":"God&#8217;s Wisdom for Our Work &#8211; Proverbs 6:6-11 &#038; 24:30-34"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Proverbs referenced during this sermon: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6:6-11<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6\u00a0Go to the ant, you sluggard;<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0consider its ways and be wise!<br>7\u00a0It has no commander,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0no overseer or ruler,<br>8\u00a0yet it stores its provisions in summer<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and gathers its food at harvest.<br>9\u00a0How long will you lie there, you sluggard?<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0When will you get up from your sleep?<br>10\u00a0A little sleep, a little slumber,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0a little folding of the hands to rest\u2014<br>11\u00a0and poverty will come on you like a thief<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and scarcity like an armed man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>24:30-34<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>30\u00a0I went past the field of a sluggard,\u00a0<br>past the vineyard of someone who has no sense;\u00a0<br>31\u00a0thorns had come up everywhere,\u00a0<br>the ground was covered with weeds,\u00a0<br>and the stone wall was in ruins.\u00a0<br>32\u00a0I applied my heart to what I observed\u00a0<br>and learned a lesson from what I saw:\u00a0<br>33\u00a0A little sleep, a little slumber,\u00a0<br>a little folding of the hands to rest\u2014\u00a0<br>34\u00a0and poverty will come on you like a thief\u00a0<br>and scarcity like an armed man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15:19\u00a0The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns,<br>but the path of the upright is a highway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>22:13\u00a0The sluggard says, \u201cThere\u2019s a lion outside!<br>I\u2019ll be killed in the public square!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>26:13\u00a0A sluggard says, \u201cThere\u2019s a lion in the road,\u00a0<br>a fierce lion roaming the streets!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>26:16\u00a0A sluggard is wiser in his own eyes\u00a0<br>than seven people who answer discreetly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>26:15\u00a0A sluggard buries his hand in the dish;<br>he is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>26:14\u00a0As a door turns on its hinges,\u00a0<br>so a sluggard turns \u2026 on his bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>19:15\u00a0Laziness brings on deep sleep,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and the shiftless go hungry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>20:13\u00a0Do not love sleep or you will grow poor;<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0stay awake and you will have food to spare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14:23\u00a0All hard work brings a profit,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but mere talk leads only to poverty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12:11\u00a0Those who work their land will have abundant food,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but those who chase fantasies have no sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13:4\u00a0A sluggard\u2019s appetite is never filled,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>28:19\u00a0Those who work their land will have abundant food,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but those who chase fantasies will have their fill of poverty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>21:25-26 The craving of a sluggard will be the death of him,<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0because his hands refuse to work.
