Many Christians live their lives believing that their salvation is all up to them – and, that they can lose it.\u00a0Instead of having security and confidence, we can\u00a0live life like a tightrope walker in the\u00a0circus, taking each step ever so slightly, thinking that if we\u00a0take one wrong step, we\u00a0are lost and\u00a0gone and perish irredeemably. As a result, we can live out our relationship with God in\u00a0tremendous insecurity and fear. The Bible affirms both that a person\u00a0can fall away from a profession of faith, while at the same time\u00a0affirming that a person\u00a0can never lose a truly possessed\u00a0salvation.
